Peaches came to the office today! Dr. Crespi placed a composite (white filling material) over the fracture to repair the tooth. She was a great patient! We learned that the Carnassial tooth is the primary tooth dogs use to crush hard material in their diet such as bones and hard pieces of meat. Peaches' vet has advised us that dogs should not chew hard toys and bones (like Nylabones) as it can cause fractures like these. So please give your canine friends soft toys only and brush their teeth daily to keep them clean!
